I picked up my first camera in Latvia, where I grew up. A family friend who was a photographer showed me what it could do, and shaped how I see people more than anyone since.

At 20 I moved to the Netherlands to study photography at the FOTOfactory in Amsterdam. Then came almost nine years at an Amsterdam studio, photographing face after face. I learned to read people: their features, their character, the version of themselves they hope to see. And how to bring it out.

I also learned what I love most: natural light. Morning sun through a kitchen window. The last hour on the beach. A grey Dutch day that makes skin glow. Dark corners, candid moments and very little light, until people forget the camera is there. I can run a full set-up with big lamps, and I have. My heart lives in the quieter version.

Since then I've photographed weddings, portraits and corporate shoots across the Netherlands, with jobs in Thailand and Latvia along the way.

No studio, no backdrop. We shoot at your home, in a space we find together, or outside. Forest, beach, city street, wherever the light is good.
